I had the chance to ask Mr. Logan Wong a few question, who plays Mr. Xi in Cuckoo 3. Logan is a very nice guy, who didn't hesitate for a second, when I asked him for an interview and even shared few pics of Taylor without asking. Check the interview bellow!

For those, who don’t know you, I'd like to introduce you somehow. Can you please help me with that?
Hi everyone! I’m Logan Wong and I am an actor and voice artist based in the UK for over 22 years.

You played Mr. Xi in Cuckoo 3. How was it? What was the best part about it?
It was so much fun playing Mr Xi. Filming Cuckoo 3 was an amazing experience and without doubt the most fun I have ever had on a set so far. I’ve worked on many projects and usually, we have to stick to the script verbatim but on Cuckoo, we were allowed some artistic freedom and sometimes even improvise. Some of the funnier moments in series 3 were either mistakes that we made and then were written into the script or improvised. The best part for me was the shouting especially when the director would tell me to be ‘more angry’!

How was the filming with Taylor?
Taylor is an absolute professional and so down to earth. At the first read-through, I had no idea that I would be working with Taylor. I didn’t recognise him at first as he was sat on the far opposite end of the room and his head was shaved! I had no idea at that time that he was a world champion martial artist either so I asked him on the first day of shoot (the chicken scene) if he did any martial arts, he replied ‘a little bit’! Then I found out about his background that night. I got him back 6 weeks later when we filmed the scene with Mr Xi driving Dale away. As we were waiting for the cameras to roll, Taylor asked me if I knew how to drive and I told him that I’ve never driven a car before (I did finally tell him that I used to do stunt driving for various tv shows in the UK)!

Since it has been confirmed, that the 4th (and 5th) season will be filmed, what would you like to see in it?
I would love to see Dale and Rachael get married, maybe have a kid or two. Maybe Cuckoo had another child, possibly a girl this time and Dylan falls for her? I’d really love to see Cuckoo turn up in the final series! There are so many possibilities.

What was the funniest moment on the set?
The funniest moments were when we got our lines wrong and then would start to have the giggles. Once you’ve got the giggles, it’s almost impossible to continue filming until we have all stopped laughing. ‘The giggles’ can be caused by small things that we wouldn’t even find funny if we weren’t on a set. There were a couple of scenes in episode 7 where we couldn’t stop laughing. One scene was when Ben was pouring the tea. When we rehearsed it, Matt poured the tea normally but on the actual take, he started to rattle the teapot against the cup. I wasn’t expecting that and promptly burst out laughing! I had to hold my laughter every time Matt and Kenneth jumped over the sofa! The other scene was where Ben and Ling kiss and I had to pull different faces of disapproval, anger and confusion for about 5 minutes (which wasn’t used in the final edit) and Taylor couldn’t stop laughing off screen.

How was filming with the other castmates?
It was wonderful. Everyone was really friendly and the entire cast and crew felt like one, big happy family! Everyone got on so well and we had so much fun that I actually got bored sitting at home when I had a day off! I can’t believe 2 months went by in a blink of an eye.

You usually play bad guys in movies. Do you like it?
ABSOLUTELY! I get to do things on film that if I were to do in real life, I would have to go to prison! I have played good guys and other parts but the bad guys get to have all the fun. I especially love being in high speed police car chases (on a set, not in real life!)

Who is your dream actor that you would like to play alongside in a movie with?
I have a very long list of actors that I would like to work with and slowly but surely, I am marking them off. Taylor was on that list so I’m happy about that. I’ve waited 20 years to work with Helen Baxendale (Lorna)! I was supposed to work with her on ‘Friends’ back in the 90s but my scenes was cut out of the script at the last minute and never shot. The number one person on my list was Andy Serkis (Golem, King kong, Tintin). He is such a versatile actor and I was fortunate enough to hang out and work alongside him for 2 months in the comedy horror ‘The Cottage’ back in 2007 (once again, I played a bad guy!). Also on the same production, I got to work with Steven O’Donnell who was in one of my top 3 favourite tv comedy series ‘Bottom’ (Cuckoo has now taken 2nd place and moved Bottom to 3rd! 1st place is Blackadder.)

I've read about your martial arts background. You saw what Taylor is capable of. Who would win in a fight?
That’s a hard one! At this point in time, Taylor is near his peak of fitness and if we had a friendly spar, maybe just a few rounds in the ring, he would most definitely mop the floor with my face! Don’t forget, Taylor was world champion and he is more than half my age! Believe it or not, I am well over half a century old! Oh dear, I’ve just realised that I’ve been doing martial arts longer than Taylor has been alive! Haha! Also, my martial arts background is completely different as I originally trained for security work and have been training for the past 35 years. Now, if it was a fight to the death?… Seriously though, I could never fight Taylor in real life as he is darn too nice!

You were kind enough to send us a few pics of Taylor being patriotic on the 4th of July. That was the day when the last scene of season 3 had been filmed. Did Taylor try to sneak something "American" in the scene? (see pictures here)
Not that I know of! Taylor is totally professional but he did wrap himself up in an American flag in-between takes for the whole day... And he had red white and blue balloons and American flags draped all over his trailer.

What do you do in your free time?
I write and proof read when I have spare time but those are not as much fun as I wished it could be. My greatest pursuit whenever I know that I haven’t got work lined up, would be the great outdoors. I love to travel to remote places around the world and hang out there for a few months whenever I can. Stick me anywhere on the planet where there is a lake or river, forests, mountains and no people and I will be the happiest person in the world! During the summer months, I run kayaking trips through a national forest in Poland and on occasion, I teach wilderness survival skills.

Lately, there has been the white washing of Asian roles (Doctor Strange and The Ghost in the Shell movies). What are your thoughts on that topic?
Very disappointed that they are still doing this in 2016. I have been a huge comic book fan since the early 70s and although I’m not a fan of Doctor Strange or Ghost in the shell, I’m no stranger to them either. I would have gone to see both movies but now instead, I will be boycotting them. It’s not just the whitewashing that makes me angry. If they changed the story and setting slightly, I’d be fine with that but it’s the silliest and the lamest of excuses that the studios come up with for not using a person of Asian descent and that doesn’t sit too well with me.

What is your next role?
If you asked that question to all actors (including A-listers in Hollywood), 99.9% of them would give the same answer. Unless we are about to film, we just don’t know. We usually don’t know if we have managed to get a part until the very last minute. On Cuckoo series 3, I was told I had gotten the part of Mr Xi on a Friday and we started filming the next Monday. Sometimes, we get less than 24 hours notice! I do have a read-through and rehearsal coming up for a new tv series but it’s so top secret that I don’t even know what channel it’s for, what the show is called or even who my character is (although I have my suspicions – but I could be wrong)!

Do you have any message for Taylor's fans?
Never give up on your dreams, be who you want to be and not what anyone else wants you to be. Oh, and if you see Taylor on the street, don’t be shy, go up to him and say hello! Taylor will always have time for his fans.

Thank you so much for your time and hopefully we'll see you in the 4th and 5th season of Cuckoo.
Thank you. I hope I get a chance to reprise Mr Xi in the upcoming series but if not, I’ll still be very happy that Cuckoo has at least another two series to go!
